藝術長久以來一直是人類文明的高度表現，藉由藝術所呈現的精神與價值，不僅可以提昇民眾的心靈文化，更可將社會文明推向真、善、美的境界。
當前世界面臨金融危機，經濟不振，各地天然災害頻起，期盼藉由「和平書畫展」來緩和金融危機所帶來的壓力，並為災害受創中的台灣，吹起一股溫馨與希望的暖流。我們邀請國內外享有盛名的書畫家，齊聚於美麗的寶島，以和平為主題，發出人們對愛與和平的渴望，展現台灣內在祥和而堅定的力量，並散發出豐富的精神內涵。
我們期許這次展覽會，不只是為書畫藝術的交流與合作，提供一個很好的平台，而且為民眾提供一個提昇人文精神與展望和平的機會。誠心感謝各界書畫家熱情的參與，包括來自兩岸，以及亞洲各國的書畫家，一起共襄盛舉。祈願能藉此書畫展，宣揚世界和平的理想，預祝書畫展圓滿成功！真摯祝福國運昌盛，世界永遠和平！

Art beautify human life, calligraphy and painting shine upon peace
Arts for a long time had displayed immensely in human civilization, through the rendered spirit and value in art, not only can improve spiritual culture of human being, also it can push social civilization toward the realm of truth, goodness and beauty.
The current financial crisis facing the world, economic depression, increase frequency of natural disasters, hopefully through the “Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition for Peace” can mitigate the pressure exerted by the financial crisis, and blowing a surge of warmth and hope in traumatized Taiwan after flood disaster. We invite renowned painters at home and from abroad, gather together in this beautiful island, with the theme of peace, issued people for their desire of love and peace, unfold the strength of inner peace and firm in Taiwan, and gives off rich spiritual connotation.
Our hopes for this exhibition is to provide a good platform, not just for the exchange and cooperation on painting and calligraphy, at the same time as an elevation for people consciousness on human culture and also provide opportunities for people on the prospects for peace.
Sincerely thanks to all masters of painting and calligraphy for your enthusiastic participation, including representatives from both sides of the Cross-strait, and Asian countries to join and cooperate with this great project.
